Always work with your best young people.  Fashion your program to stimulate the sharpest, brightest, and the most spiritual.  Don't ever let your youth program sink to the lowest denominator where you are trying to please everybody.  Make demands upon the young people and don't neglect anyone; but let the central thrust of your program be to the finest of the kids.

Teach young people the Word of God and give them the chance to be involved in a no-nonsense youth program and they will develop potential beyond what you could ever suspect.

Investing your life to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ is the greatest single activity in which a person could possibly be involved.

The contrast between working in the power of the Spirit and in the energy of the flesh is easily discernible.  Even more so is the contrast between the tuition of learning and the intuition of the Spirit in knowledge and teaching.  It costs much to obtain this power.  It costs self-surrender and humiliation and the yielding up of our most precious things to God.  It costs the perseverance of long waiting and the faith of strong trust.  But when we are really in that power, we shall find the difference:  that, whereas before it was hard for us to do the easiest thing, now it is easy for us to do the hardest.   Adoniram Judson Gordon
